I am a folk musician/singer/songwriter and activist for affordable healthcare. Many of my song lyrics reflect concern over the healthcare crisis. I am for HR-676; but even if I'm wrong about single-payer, somehow we need to make it something everybody can afford. It must also be that nobody has to lose his insurance due to lay off (or even his fault / getting fired); even if he can't afford the COBRA. Affordable Access to Healthcare is a RIGHT! Every other first world democracy sees it that way.
Here is
one of my songs caught on YouTube, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xYKohJTKNI . It is a rendition of Vive La Compagne voicing needs to make healthcare affordable for every American.
I also have a challenge with Aspergers Syndrome, which I have promised
Healthcare-Now I would use to help put a human face on the healthcare crisis. My condition doesn't mean I can't work; but it does mean it is harder to get an employer to consider me because I have some limitations. I have also wrote 3 songs with the autism awareness theme; and even encouraged families with autistic child to bring them to my gigs to meet a musician who has faced similar challenges.
